Hello again and welcome back! Today we will get to know Tero Isoranta who has started at Zure during Covid-19. Let’s figure out his experiences and current feelings about working at Zure in this remote-work world.

Tero is an experienced hands-on expert with designing and implementing cloud BI solutions. Currently, he is especially interested in machine learning in Azure and architectural design on data-related solutions.

🌏 Where do you come from?

After getting my degree in finance, I worked with economical simulations for a bit and got interested in business intelligence. From there on I have dived head-on into the data world, mostly business intelligence, data science, and data engineering.

🧑‍💻 Why Zure as an employer?

Zure has strong competence in Azure and DevOps methods. Seeing how proper development practices are increasingly important also in data projects, I felt that I had a lot to learn from people at Zure. Which has been the case indeed!

🧪 You have started at Zure during Korona. Was it difficult to get to know your co-workers and actually start working?

Luckily I got to see many of my co-workers in person at the end of last summer. Knowing few people beforehand also eased out the transition. Korona is obviously hard to deal with but fitting in hasn’t been a challenge at all, thanks to amazing colleagues like Annika, just to pick one, who is there to help.

💎 Where do you get strength for your work week?

I’m following quite closely new stuff happening in the data sphere. Comparing current practices with new and shiny stuff gives an interesting angle to assess our own work. Sport once a day keeps the boogie man away. Also, screaming into a pillow if nothing else works.

🖐 When the restrictions are removed what you do first?

I’ll probably get back to playing footie and fully enjoy tackling and high fiving everyone. Little things 🙂
