"Embracing new technologies like Microsoft Fabric necessitates profound expertise and a reliable partner to guide you through the process.
Zure has demonstrated their role as that trusted ally, providing comprehensive knowledge and support from the initial planning to the complete implementation of Microsoft Fabric at Valmet."
Otto Torkki, Valmet Data Platform Service Manager, Valmet
Zure is dedicated to challenging each and every one of us with new problems and technologies. It's in our nature to dive headfirst into understanding how the landscape is changing and to anticipate the future. Last year, Microsoft and OpenAI took the world by storm, and we at Zure were among the frontrunners in understanding and adopting GenAI. OpenAI garnered significant media attention, and rightly so, but Microsoft also released a new product, Microsoft Fabric, which is a game-changer for data professionals.
Just as we did with Azure OpenAI, Zure began to explore Microsoft Fabric and the possibilities it offers as soon as it was released in public preview in May 2023. Looking back to that point and observing where Microsoft Fabric is now, its evolution has been nothing short of impressive. We shared insights and our learnings in a blog post in November. Since then, Microsoft has not only released Microsoft Fabric for general availability but has continued to develop it further.
In adopting this new technology, Zure has been working in collaboration with Valmet since last summer. Valmet initiated a project to modernize their data platform solution and implemented a new way of working around Microsoft Fabric.
Customer Case: Valmet Data Platform
Valmet is on a mission to become a data-powered organization by 2025. A critical milestone toward this goal was the modernization of their data platform. The new system is engineered to serve as a data portal, granting access to all Valmet data across the organization and providing cutting-edge technological capabilities essential for data-intensive solutions.
In partnership with Zure, Valmet set out to modernize its data platform using Microsoft Fabric, targeting enhanced performance, scalability, and a quicker time-to-market for data products. Simultaneously, Valmet prioritized increasing transparency and ownership by utilizing the domain-based structure within Microsoft Fabric. By integrating Microsoft Fabric at the heart of their data platform, Valmet has established a solid foundation to manage and leverage the full potential of their vast data resources.
Valmet has been one of the early adopters of Microsoft Fabric, and Zure has supported them from the outset. The initiatives around Microsoft Fabric at Valmet have also gained recognition within Microsoft. For instance, Valmet was selected, along with a handful of companies globally, to trial the Microsoft Fabric Copilot last year.
"Collaborating with Zure has been a gratifying journey, and they remain our strategic data partner. Their practical understanding and successful deployment of advanced technologies like Microsoft Fabric have been crucial in driving our business forward.
By leveraging Zure's expertise and Microsoft Fabric's capabilities, we are confidently progressing toward transforming our organization and reaching our strategic objective of becoming fully data-driven by 2025. This ambitious goal is within our grasp, thanks to the robust foundation established through our partnership with Zure and their broad expertise in state-of-the-art data solutions like Microsoft Fabric."
