Recognizing the growing complexity of fragmented systems and data silos, Sponda launched a long-term digital transformation. At the heart of this journey was a centralized data integration platform that would unify information flows across the organization and enable more strategic decision-making. The transformation also included modernizing the company’s ERP system and transitioning fully to the cloud.

Cloud-native Data Platform
Sponda now runs a cloud-native data integration platform (DIP) for data integration pipelines and a data analytics platform (DAP) that consolidates data and supports real-time reporting.

Building a Foundation for Data-Driven Opreations

The looming end-of-life of their ERP system added urgency to modernize the entire architecture. The company needed to replace on-prem patchwork solutions with a secure, scalable, and unified cloud-based data integration platform.

Key goals included eliminating shadow IT, standardizing how systems were acquired and supported, and creating a governance model that ensured data consistency across the organization.

To meet these goals, Sponda defined a six-year roadmap for digital transformation. At the center of this plan was a cloud-native integration and reporting platform built on Azure. Zure joined as a long-term partner to help design, implement, and iterate the platform alongside the modernization of ERP systems.

The rapid evolution of cloud and data technologies meant the project needed to remain flexible. Weekly technical forums between Sponda and Zure enabled fast decision-making, issue resolution, and adjustments to evolving business needs.
