This week we dive into the world of Niiles, our Azure Specialist! After starting to work on his masters’ thesis on hybrid cloud adoption, Niiles found an interest in the public cloud and more specifically Microsoft Azure. Before Zure, he worked in IT support for a few years. Challenges and learning new things make work meaningful for him. But what about foosball? Let’s find out.

🌍 Where do you come from?

I come from a city in central Finland called Jyväskylä (or Jyväääskylä, as someone from that area would say) but I have roots in Germany too. IT studies and work in IT eventually led me to the cloud and Zure.

🔎 What parts does your workday usually consist of?

I solve various Azure platform-related issues and might involve myself in Azure onboarding – or other improvement projects our clients have. No days are the same which keeps it interesting for me.

🧖 Random fact about you

I’m a bit of a sauna-enthusiast. Always have to try it out if I find some weird sauna somewhere. My favourite so far has been one I visited at an abandoned gas-station in Berlin, where they had built a sauna into an old fire truck. 🙂

⚽️ What is your current score in Zure’s foosball league?

728, which means I have a long way to the top. I’m really looking forward to upping my foosball skills once more people start coming to the office frequently.
