Last summer, when visiting IglooConf, Sakari Nahi asked us a question that changed everything: “Geert, Chris, would you consider launching Zure Netherlands?”  

We were intrigued. We knew the founders of neighboring Zure offices, such as Belgium, UK and Denmark. We heard their stories, their journeys, how they built their strong culture and knew this was a great match for us. 

We took some time to think it over, but it quickly became clear that this was an adventure we couldn’t pass up on. Now, we’re ready to shake things up and bring something bold and fresh to the Dutch consulting landscape. 

Who are we? 

Chris van Sluijsveld and I have been working side-by-side for over nine years and both have a long history in consultancy. Together, we’ve built deep expertise in Azure, platform engineering, developer experience (DevEx), modern cloud native software architecture and generative AI.  

We’ve worked together so much and become such a strong duo that people often mix us up, even though we look nothing alike. I think that is because we share values, but also that our differences complement each other. Going on this journey of entrepreneurship, I couldn’t be happier starting this with a trusted friend. It won’t be easy, but that’s the case with everything that’s worth something. 

Zure is different 

At Zure, people are always at the heart of what we do. We believe everyone should have the opportunity to own part of the company, and many already do. Our culture is transparent, direct, and built on trust. We embrace tough challenges, aren’t afraid to make mistakes, and always learn openly from them. We proudly carry forward the strong culture and values established by our global Zure team, founded 12 years ago in Finland and now active in Belgium, Denmark, and the UK.

Transparancy is something external towards our customers but also internally within the company. We don’t believe in sugar coating bad messages or making things look nice when they arent. We believe being open and transparent on company finances, tough choices & towards colleagues builds trust and understanding. We will make mistakes.. a lot of them, that’s part of new adventures and we hope to build a great team to take on these adventures as a close team!

Zure Netherlands has the skills on Azure to help our customers in platform engineering, developer experience and in building AI applications, and we’re looking forward to growing Zure NL with like-minded individuals to ensure we can be their trusted Azure partner for all needs! 

Community matters 

Chris and I have always been deeply involved in the tech community. Speaking at events, supporting community initiatives, and openly sharing knowledge is part of who we are, and that commitment won’t change. We’ll continue to actively contribute to making our community stronger, smarter, and friendlier. 

Personal Note 

I’m genuinely thrilled and honored to start this incredible adventure with Chris and the rest of the Zure team. Chris and I, we’ve already accomplished a lot together, but this next chapter is the most exciting one yet!
