Hello you and welcome back! Today, our Business Design Lead Milja Nohynek has received the honor (or got dragged into) to be a part of our #Whoseday roast. Let’s see what she has in mind.
Milja is an experienced combination of business, technology and people. Her background combines project management, service design and consulting in Microsoft Cloud industry. Milja’s superpower is in understanding people and processes, and her role includes also HR and Marketing.
I lived my childhood in Otaniemi, so I don’t think I ever really had other career options than tech. My 10-year work background is a fun combination of different consulting and internal roles. There’s been project & account management, consulting, service design, scrum mastering, HR, communications, and marketing. I love having a full-stack generalist-kind-of-role.
The people! Such a crazy talented bunch. Also a crazy bunch, but that’s exactly why I feel like home 😛
My usual day starts by biking to the office, getting a croissant from Gateau, and having my breakfast talking to colleagues (Sanna and Ville are always there!). There’s no such thing as a regular day, but usually, I have dailies, planning meetings, or customer steerings in the morning. Lunch hour is obviously at 11 Finnish in style. In the afternoon I concentrate on recruitment calls or the creation of different kinds of internal and external materials. The day usually ends with biking in a super hurry and last minute to the kindergarten.
I try to spend 3-4 days per week at the office. I have to say, right now after the home-office period I get sometimes really tired from the office days, although I love seeing people in real life. So I try to keep some “office breaks” during the week and just do all the focus-needed work at home.
Even though you believe in yourself, you can still be completely shit.
If you are into interesting challenges and working with a fun bunch of people, go for it!
